Wood sculpting
Wood is a very versatile medium, and there are many different techniques that can be employed when working with wood. On the last, and very successful, course it became clear that the chainsaw is the favourite of all wood sculpting tools. The most up-to-date chainsaws are very light, quiet, and user-friendly, and women can handle them easily.
With the chainsaw, figures can be made in various ways, whether abstract or showing great detail, small or inordinately large. What's more, working with chainsaws is great fun. We work only with tools and protective clothing that meet the most up-to-date safety standards. Each course participant is free to work in his/her own way. The theme can be discussed with the course tutor who also likes to give his/her artistic and technical support.
Soft wood like poplar or willow (up to approximately 90cm in diameter) is always ready at hand on the premises. Larch and chestnut wood can be bought at the neighbouring sawmill.
